The Build so far 180SX SS

I purchased the car like this, had been used as a track car, and briefly as a drift car. It was in really good condition and had alot of work already done. Anthony even made me wait while he washed it, i felt it was worth spending a little more for a good base.

As i do, i cant leave anything alone, and i really wanted to use the Rocket Bunny kit, so i took to a beautidul car with an angle grinder, and half an idea of what i was doing....

I actually didnt stuff it up to badly, and the kit fit really well with no modifications. I do intend on getting Mcqueen motorsport to clean up the rear guards when car is in getting cage etc.
My buddy Shan is a sign writer etc...and as i dig things looking a certain way, we made it more like a race car before the winton track day.

Mock up for car... next up to get to here, rocket bunny front bar, Viva Garage front diffuser. side diffusers, rocket bunny rear diffuser, GT wing struts, full cage by Mcqueen Motorsport, tubing front end, side exhaust, lowering seating position, ecu and tune by Chequered tuning. I also need to buy a trailer, another set of rims for wets, get the F100 sorted for towing, get my full cams licence, drop 15kgs, pass medical....all to be ready by March....Now i know i wont be anywhere near the front of the grid, ill be happy if i can keep up with the guys down the back, and get to every round for the coming season...i just want seat time, get used to it all again...well..ive only raced karts, so im sure this is very different....

Cirkut Work

Cirkut Work
We have a cool group on fb, to share track days and events.......

VIVA GARAGE VISIT

I have been working with the David, owner of Viva Garage on ideas for my 180SX Sports Sedan, now i should say, my car is not a full blown SS, i simply dont have the funds to compete at the top level, the front running cars are for the most part big dollar engineering marvels.....i...on the other hand will be on a strict budget, maybe 10% of what they spend...so im looking at being as smart as i can.....with Viva we are focusing on aero....my 180 is running a full Rocket Bunny Kit from Japan, including the GT wing wing struts that are the Ben Sopra 380sx project, and a full carbon fibre rear diffuser also by Rocket Bunny. Viva Garage are also making me a carbon front diffuser and side diffusers. So we should have a decent slippery car that will produce downforce.

New Boots

I just purchased a set of the R1 tyres by Achillies for the 180, will post some pics up once they are mounted to my Rota 18 by 10 rims that i just had powdercoated locally, kinda excited about seeing the satin black rims with slicks on the car, should look sick, and i hear these tyres are great value for money....

Geelong

I was not in the mood for anything, just over it...and my bro Micro suggested i tag along on a run down to geelong to see GSCMC founded John Smith. Rif=ding can really clear your mind, problems are left behind. Its a boring run to geelong, all hwy...but it means you can sit on a decent speed...and just think. While i am not of any faith myself, some of my best buds are, and i do get positive vibes from hanging with them...John, is an amazing man,...they are making a documentary about him next year....Micro take amazing photos...ill be posting alot more of his stuff. Hopefully so will he.

A NEW SERIES KING TO BE CROWNED

A NEW SERIES KING TO BE CROWNED

BY THE MIDDLE of next Sunday afternoon the winner of the 2013 Kerrick Australian Sports Sedan Series will be known. With the completion of the fifth round this weekend at the Sandown Raceway Shannons Nationals, it could be title number eight for a seven-time winner or it could be someone new.
Two rounds ago, none of the three now in contention, really rated themselves but how soon things change. Tasmanian Bruce Banks finds himself an unlikely series leader, starting the season with a Chev Camaro and racing most recently, racing his trusty Mazda RX7. Queenslander Shane Bradford (Chev Camaro) always believed he had what it takes to be in contention . . . and still is, while West Australia’s Tony Ricciardello (Alfa Romeo/Chev) felt he had the pace but not enough rounds left to make it work.
These scenarios have largely been brought about by Kerry Baily’s exclusion from the results of two of the races at Phillip Island’s round four and the subsequent withdrawal of the title-leading Aston Martin/Chev from the final round, due to bushfires affecting his business.
Banks holds a 22-point lead over Bradford while Ricciardello is a further 14 points adrift and how the final points play out, will depend where others finish . . . like the very quick Darren Hossack whose primary aim is just to win races in the Audi/Chev and fellow Victorian Daniel Tamasi’s Calibra Chev which has the pace to match or beat most in a straight line at least.
There will be a quality rollup to add to the mix including Queenslanders Bob McLoughlin (Commodore/Chev), Anthony Cox (Saab/Dodge), Colin Smith (Holden Monaro/Chev) and Charlie Senese (Chev Corvette) plus Victorians Michael Robinson (Monaro/Chev), Peter Beninca’s two litre Alfa Romeo and Damien Johnson’s Holden Torana, as well as the exquisite Jaguar XKR/Chev of NSW’s Dameon Jameson.
The Sandown Raceway field is predominately Chev V8 powered. The Australian Sports Sedans allow more freedoms than any other sedan category in the country and have been competing nationally since 1975. The category can list among its winners such names as Allan Moffat, Frank Gardner, Allan Grice, Tony Edmondson and Allan Jones. Originally created in the United States, the Trans Am cars run alongside Sports Sedans, look similar, are built differently but produce very similar lap times to the Aussie cars.
The Kerrick Sports Sedans are set to hit the circuit for three 20-minute practice sessions on Friday, November 15 at 10:00am, 12:40pm and 3:20pm, leading to a pair of qualifying outings the next day, Saturday November 16, at 10:05am and 1:20pm. The first of three 12-lap races is scheduled for later in the day at 3:50am, before the final two races on Sunday November 17 at 10:40am and 1:10pm.

Holford Motors Drift & Round 3 of the Roadking Chassis Pty.ltd. Vicdrift Championship

Having never been to a drift event, i really didnt know what to expect, well fuck me sideways, its pretty bloody cool. Stand out for me was Michael Prosenik's V8 S13....aka the fucking NASCAR.

Held at Calder raceway, 5min from where i live, the beat up neglected track now seems to only host drift n drag, with very limited circuit racing. Which is a pain in the ass...get your shit together Calder!!!

So Drift, i dont need to explain to you, likely you know more about it than i do....

Our boy Michael Prosenik is taking to the lovers of sheep....

Sandown Historics

Sandown Historics is a feast every year, always later in the year, with the hope of sunshine, and of course if you know what Melb Australia is like, you know rain is a certainty. This year i was keen to check out the invited Sports sedans, while not Historic, they were an invited category.

As ive decided to run in this class next year i wanted to get along, and just see who is running what. Although i am not new to this class, as ive been following it as long as ive been at race tracks, so from the 70s....

A mixture of under 2lt and over 2lt cars made up the strong field.
